Scout.com compiles the HOT 'n COLD players through each week of the NFL season (fantasy owners take note). Check below for a grid of stats & commentary through week 3 and be sure to check back for further updates each week.

QUARTERBACKS

HOT - Tom Brady has a 141.8 passer rating and is on pace to break Peyton Manning's TD record set just 2 years ago. Carson Palmer and Tony Romo are both looking on top of their games. Jake Delhomme may not play this week with a banged elbow. Brett Favre will break Dan Marino's TD record with one TD this weekend. Palmer, Derek Anderson, Jon Kitna, and Eli Manning have all thrown 4 INTs through week 3.

COLD - Rex Grossman is done...finally. Matt Leinart was benched for Kurt Warner against the Ravens. Drew Brees has 7 (SEVEN) ints on the season. Jason Campbell faced the league's worst pass defense (NYG) last week and still stunk it up. Marc Bulger is playing without Orlando Pace for the season and now RB Steven Jackson for a few weeks with a partially torn groin...and Bulger has 2 broken ribs.

RUNNING BACKS

HOT - Could Brian Westbrook finish the season with 2741 all-purpose yards? Marion Barber is well on pace to shatter his suprise total of 16 TDs in 2006. LaMont Jordan gets Daunte Culpepper at QB this week. Adrian Peterson continues to impress on a rookie tear.

COLD - Wow, what an impressive list of frigid running backs through 3 weeks!? At least Reggie Bush made it out of the icebox with his 2 TDs on MNF. Expect LaDainian Tomlinson, Laurence Maroney, and Larry Johnson to get it going eventually, but SJax will be missing a few weeks with a groin injury prior to finding the endzone for the first time this year. Maurice Jones-Drew has looked awful. Julius Jones, Tatum Bell, and DeAngelo Williams have capable company in their backfields and may bust unless their running mates go down with injuries.

WIDE RECEIVERS

HOT - Randy Moss is on an incredibly torrid pace...project his 3 week totals out for a season and Moss catches 117 for 2149 yards and 26 TDs (keep in mind that the leading wide receiver totals last year were 1370 yards and 13 TDs). Chad Johnson is tearing it up as well in Cincy, but teammate T.J. Houshmandzadeh is looking more like the possession receiver with a league-leading 29 catches and one more TD than CJ. Kevin Curtis had a career day in week 3 for Philly. Anquan Boldin has quietly done well, but will likely sit out week 4 with a hip injury.

COLD - Some of these guys may be killing your fantasy teams. Marvin Harrison's totals are actually decent by most standards, but Marvin has much higher expectations after finishing as the #1 fantasy WR in 2006 (keep in mind however that Harrison didn't score in 2006 until week 5). Javon Walker is questionable to play in Indy this weekend. Larry Fitzgerald has perhaps more talent than anyone on this list, but is facing some pretty tough defenses early in the season (Pittsburgh this Sunday). Anyone feel sorry for Lee Evans owners who drafted him early?

TIGHT ENDS

HOT - These guys will finish this way. Antonio Gats, Kellen Winslow, and Jason Witten are absolute studs. Benjamin Watson and Dallas Clark play in great "spread the wealth" offenses. And Todd Heap / Jeremy Shockey are just plain good.

COLD - Will Vernon Davis finally get it done this week? I wonder if Daniel Graham is missing Tom Brady and New England...
