Browns WR Josh Gordon arrested

The promising wide receiver may have squandered away his 2014 season and possibly even more.

Recent news reported Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon was expected to have his suspension hearing later in July. This would have been the time more details about the length of his suspension were announced and his 2014 fate would finally take shape. In the wake of that report, more troubling news about Gordon has come to light. The former Baylor Bears receiver was arrested for DWI in Raleigh, North Carolina early Saturday morning at 4 a.m. A mugshot can be found here.

Fantasy Analysis

Wow. It's hard to not pile on. Gordon, just 23 years old, came into the league under dubious circumstances. A failed drug test while at Baylor led to an indefinite suspension. About a month later, he transferred to Utah and was forced to sit out the 2011 season. This made him ineligible for the 2011 Supplemental Draft. He was then a second-round pick in the 2012 Supplemental Draft, which meant Cleveland would have to forfeit their second round pick in the following year's draft. All that baggage didn't slow down Gordon who has now failed two drug tests while in the NFL, not including the one he failed in college. Now he has a DWI to add onto the list. Fantasy owners might want to consider just walking away. There is almost no chance he plays this season.
